The goal of the Literacy Links professional
development is to provide teachers with the knowledge base and
the strategies necessary to be successful in increasing the reading
levels for all their students. I believe that teachers, not
programs teach children to read.
What are the best research-based strategies that every classroom
teacher should incorporate into the literacy block? How do I differentiate
instruction to meet the wide range of readers in my classroom? How
do I teach reading and still have time to teach social studies and
science? These are just a few of the questions that I address in
my training.
Providing strong intentional reading
instruction for all students
is not always an easy task, but if we are sincere
about “leaving no child behind” this
lofty goal is worth
the effort.
