Beverly Tyner has been an educator for more than thirty years. Her career includes positions as a teacher, principal, and school district curriculum director. She was also a graduate professor and Director of Student Teaching for Kennesaw State University in Atlanta, Georgia.

Beverly is a best- selling author for the International Reading Association. Her first book was Small Group Reading Instruction: A Differentiated Reading Model for Beginning and Struggling Readers. In 2005, her sequel was published: Small Group Reading Instruction: A Differentiated Teaching Model for Intermediate Readers (Grades 3-8). Beverly has also produced training DVDís that accompany her books. Additionally, she has published research in the Journal of Educational Psychology that supports her reading intervention model.

Currently, Beverly Tyner is a private literacy consultant and has worked in almost every state and Canada. She resides in Chattanooga, Tennessee with her husband Paul and is the mother of four children including three college students and a missionary. Her work includes presentations at national and international conferences, consulting with schools and school districts, and writing curriculum materials. Beverly is also a staff developer and presenter with the Bureau of Education Research. Most recently, she has been assisting school districts with the implementation of Response to Intervention using her reading intervention model. Beverly is well known for her practical yet research based models in reading instruction.
